When Jay and Christina Breitlow sold their chiropractic practice over two years ago, they took time out to recharge and reconnect while building their dream home and raising their young family.
And then Grand Welcome came calling. The Breitlows had previous experience with short-term rentals, so the opportunity sparkled with flexibility, and the massive Orlando tourism was appealing to them. “Just looking at the business model, everything made sense for us, and it looked like it would be an exciting adventure,” Christina said.
Grand Welcome, the premier leader in the vacation-rental management industry, provides exceptional accommodations, world-class service, and fantastic experiences for vacationers everywhere.
The company offers a lucrative avenue for franchise owners to participate in other people’s travel fun, while eliminating the Sunday night blues of a regular 9-to-5 grind.
“Being able to do cool things – be in houses, help people redesign their lives and their vision, plus help guests live their most authentic life – all of that was exciting for us,” said Jay.
And because Jay has mastered marketing, the Breitlows don’t need to do any cold calling. While Jay oversees networking, Christina handles the field and back-office operations, from managing the software to onboarding properties.
Here’s what a typical day looks like for the Breitlows:
5:30 a.m. The Breitlows start the day by taking turns going to the gym, while the other cares for their three children.
8-9 a.m. Mornings are busy with getting the kids ready and shuffling them to school.
9 a.m.-3 p.m. Most of the day is spent onboarding houses, returning emails, making calls, and performing social media “data scrubs” to find people who might be looking for property managers or Realtors.
3-8 p.m. All bets are off once the kids get home from school! The Breitlows juggle multiple after-school activities, in between answering calls and emails.
8 p.m. Time to put the kids to bed and tie up any loose ends with the West Coast corporate team.
